In the evening, we will gather for the much-anticipated Urban Flight Collective welcome dinner. Tonight's affair promises to be a sensational and unforgettable experience. The theme of the evening is "shades of melanin," so get ready to flaunt your unique style and creativity.

Discovering Senegal’s Heart

 

We will start the day by visiting the iconic African Renaissance Monument, the highest statue in Africa, standing tall as a symbol of pride and resilience. You'll have the chance to explore inside the monument, which houses a museum rich in Senegal's history, offering deep insights into the nation's journey. For those who want to capture this moment forever, our Urban Flight Collective photographer will be available for a personal photo session against the stunning backdrop of the monument.

 

In the afternoon, we'll take a meaningful trip to a local school or orphanage, where we'll spend time giving back to the community. Senegal is home to an estimated 520,000 orphans, and while our time together may be short, the joy and love we share will leave a lasting impact. UFC is passionate about supporting orphaned children, and this day will be filled with fun activities, laughter, and connection as we engage with the kids. Prepare for a day that not only explores Senegal’s history but also touches your heart.

Today, we journey to the enchanting Lake Retba. After taking in the lake’s unique charm, it’s time to amp up the excitement with an exhilarating ATV adventure. Feel the thrill as you navigate the surrounding dunes and trails, letting the rush of adrenaline fuel your exploration of this captivating landscape.

 

The day continues with a tranquil yet unforgettable experience—camel riding. Embrace the gentle sway of these magnificent creatures as they carry you across the desert-like terrain, connecting you with the rich, nomadic traditions that have shaped this region for centuries.

Free Day

 

Today marks a well-deserved free day on our group trip, a precious blank canvas for each traveler to paint their own adventure. Whether you choose to explore the hidden gems of our destination, unwind in a hammock with a good book, savor local delicacies at a nearby café, or simply soak in the culture and surroundings, the day is entirely yours to shape as you please.

Lions, Lions, Lions

 

Today's adventure will bring you up close and personal with LIONS, offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Upon arriving at the lion reserve, you'll be introduced to a team of experienced and passionate wildlife experts who will provide you with valuable insights into the lives and behaviors of these magnificent animals.

Under the watchful eye of trained guides, you'll have the extraordinary opportunity to walk alongside these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. As you stroll through the reserve with the lions at your side, you'll feel a deep connection with the wild and gain a profound appreciation for their grace and power.

Throughout this immersive experience, our guides will share their extensive knowledge about the lion's behavior, biology, and conservation efforts to protect this iconic species. You'll learn about the challenges these creatures face in the wild and the vital role that reserves like this one play in their preservation.

Today we will head to Goree Island, a place that holds a significant and poignant chapter in Senegal's history. Our day begins with a boat ride to the beautiful Goree Island, located just off the coast of Dakar. This tranquil island, with its cobblestone streets and colonial-era architecture, offers a stark contrast to the profound and harrowing history it holds. As we step ashore, you'll be transported back in time to an era when Goree Island served as a crucial hub in the transatlantic slave trade.

​Our guided tour will provide a deep insight into Senegal's slave history and the broader context of the transatlantic slave trade, emphasizing the importance of remembering and honoring those who endured such atrocities.

Welcome to the bittersweet final day of our organized group trip, a day that marks the end of our incredible journey through Senegal. While it's time to bid farewell to this beautiful country, we depart as proud wanderers, carrying with us cherished memories and newfound friendships.
